In a market focused on urban growth and heightened environmental awareness, the CYBERGUN group has chosen to integrate sustainable development in their economic model.
20 million products sold per year, a hundred or more employees throughout the world and dozens of suppliers make the CYBERGUN Group a major economic and environmental player, who is deeply committed to the quality and safety of the products it provides to its customers. Day by day, the Group mobilizes the expertise, facilities and energy needed to develop a durable, high-performance enterprise that is also a responsible corporate citizen. Concretely, this commitment can be seen in a number of areas, from sourcing in Asia to final delivery to the consumer, including optimization of packaging and energy in our offices.
Reducing the size of "clampacks" (transparent plastic packaging) :
To meet the requirements of the CYBERGUN R&D department, the Asian plants are focusing on using smaller and smaller clampacks. Not only does this lessen the amount of plastic consumed for production, it also saves room during transport, first in containers, and then in the trucks that delivers the products to the stores. At checkout in the store, smaller clampacks require smaller shopping bags, thus further reducing plastic consumption.
Optimizing shipping from Asia :
Products from different plants are consolidated in containers departing from Shenzen, in order to optimize the volume of each twenty-foot or forty-foot container, thus reducing CYBERGUN's transport costs.
Recycling of receiving boxes in Bondoufle and Minneapolis :
Delivery boxes from Asia are systematically reused to pack customer orders, either in Europe (via Bondoufle in the Parisian region) or in the USA (via PALCO Marketing in Minneapolis). No packaging is thrown away. Every piece of packaging is reused in the CYBERGUN supply chain.
Recycling of office paper in all the subsidiaries :
Every CYBERGUN subsidiary is equipped with paper shredders to recycle envelopes and all sorts of waste paper. The shreddings are then used to protect products in delivery boxes.
Increasing use of information technologies :
The CYBERGUN Group increasingly trains its staff in the use of information technologies. Using email instead of conventional postal service, for example, allows the Group to save drastically on postal costs and to avoid wasting paper.
Project to install wind power facility at Bondoufle site :
As oil prices hit record highs, CYBERGUN is seeking other sources of energy that are less costly and more respectful of the environment.
CYBERGUN has therefore requested a quotation for wind turbines at their Bondoufle site that could power heating during winter, air conditioning during summer and computers all year round. The wind turbines could be combined with solar panels for greater performance.
Production of biodegradable BBs to replace plastic ammo :
For several years now, CYBERGUN has been working on biodegradable ammunition in order to protect the environment. In November 2005, the first biodegradable BBs were tested at the Chinese National Center for the Supervision of Quality and the Testing of Plastic Products. Report No. C0919 of 18 Nov 2005 describes the procedure, which consists in measuring the amount of CO2 released during the three-month composting of the BBs materials, in order to evaluate the degradation of the material by microorganisms. CYBERGUN biodegradable BBs passed the test with flying colors!
